I can't open it on Mac says 'developer needs to update it' do you plan on updating it? Bcause I really wanna play!

The mac build is 32bit, modern macs only support  64bit applications. Only way to run it is hope dev reexports the mac build

Sorry! It's made in an old version of Unity that can't be codesigned in the current version of Mac OS, so rebuilding won't fix it without building it in an entirely different version of the engine and taking on a pile of extra risks. Running the Windows version in a Wine bottle will probably work, though: https://winebottler.kronenberg.org/

In indie mac gaming, it is very very common for people to distribute unsigned mac games. We mac gamers have an easy way around that, which is a simple bash script (see below). All that is required to make it work is that it be rebuilt to 64bit OS X target, it is not necessary to update the actual version of OS X that it is targetting nor to properly codesign the bundle.

[[fixapp.command]]

```bash
if [[ $# -gt 0 ]]
  then echo "...$1"
  echo $1
  else
  echo "correct execution format: 'sudo fixapp.command ~/Applications/App.app"
fi
if [[ "$1" ]] ; then
  echo "fixing app"
  sudo chmod -R 755 $1
  sudo xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine $1
  echo "launching from app"
  open $1
  exit
  else
  echo "error"
fi
```

how do i open it on  linux/chomebook?

It depends on your permissions and Linux install, but you can often just double-click or run via terminal. Depending on what other games you've run, you may still need to install some libraries. You'll be able to see error messages indicating what libs are missing if you try to run it via terminal. This can help with some of the common issues, especially the most common missing libs:

To my knowledge, chromebooks don't have a standard linux distro on them so they may not to be able to do that sorta thing. But it shouldn't be any tougher for this game than other Unity games.

how do you captain more ships

you kill the other captain i think i dont know i just watched captain sause play it

You just have to make it to the other ship's bridge.

I was surprised that I liked this game so much. I was a little skeptical since you said it was made in 20 days. I guess I wan't expecting there to be much for me to do. I was wrong. It was incredibly whimsical and had a lot of cool components so I commend you for that. The only suggestion I have is with weapons. It would be nice if I could do something with the weapons other than throwing them. An inventory would also be great since I could have collect food for later and stored any other items. But anyway, thank you so much for this game! I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Also, if you want to check out some of my gameplay, here is the video:

So much fun. This game doesn't need to be long or have tons of levels added. It's a fun play as is!

This game is really unique and a lot of fun :D

I loved this game, it has a really cool concept with the planets, and taking over different ships. I would've liked a better combat system, but overall it was a really fun game to play and nothing felt buggy or broken. Really good game overall :)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oh-CD3Yt3BY

This game has a lot of potential if worked on. After playing the game for a while, I started to get the sense of some sort of sick back-story you could be developing. The world that you see through your eyes is happy. But... [EDITED FOR SPOILERS]...

Thank you for making this!

Uh... that story you got a "sense of" is actually the exact story that was in the game! I appreciate that you'd like me to expand on it further, but I've edited your post to remove spoilers from the game page. I hope you don't mind, and thanks so much for enjoying the game!

I have downloaded the game (on windows) but how do I open it?

Extract all of the zip file's contents somewhere and then double-click on 'I am the captain.exe' (the one with the icon).

Windows has the somewhat odd behavior of displaying a preview of the zip's contents if you double-click on it. You can drag those files out of there and into a folder of your choice, or you can just right click the file and select "Extract All..." instead.

This game was an experience, I'll say that much. I've never felt more like a captain in my life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXPOQQOT3WU

My ineptness only endears me to my crew... right?

Insanity. And I only at 14:00 realize the full potential of this masterpiece of madness.
